What happens on site
How a mobile car key is made
The technician confirms the vehicle and your ownership, reads the key code or the immobiliser data from the car, cuts the blade on the machine in the van, then programs the transponder chip or the smart key to the car's security system with a diagnostic programmer. You test the key, the remote buttons and the engine start before we leave.
Lost the only key
No original is needed. With the vehicle identification number and proof of ownership we generate a working key from scratch, including transponder and push-to-start keys, so the car does not have to be towed anywhere.
Fob and remote problems
Buttons that stopped responding, a cracked shell, a dead battery, a fob that unpaired itself: we repair what can be repaired, replace what cannot, and reprogram either one to your car.
Ignition and broken keys
A key that will not turn, sticks, or snapped off inside the cylinder is an ignition job, not a dealership visit. We extract broken pieces, repair or replace the cylinder and cut a matching key on the spot.

Car key questions
Can you make a car key if I lost the only one?
Yes. Using your vehicle identification number and proof of ownership we cut and program a new key without the original, at your location.
Do I need to go to the dealership for a replacement key?
For most makes and years, no. A mobile car key locksmith cuts and programs the key where the car is, so the car does not have to be towed to a dealer.
How long does a car key replacement take?
Most replacements take about 15 to 30 minutes on site once we arrive, depending on the key type and the programming the car requires.
What does a car key replacement cost in Toronto?
It depends on the make, model, year and key type (metal, transponder, flip key, smart key). Call with those details and you get a free estimate on the phone before we drive out.
Can you program a key fob or a push-to-start smart key?
Yes. We program most remotes, key fobs and proximity smart keys, and we can reprogram an existing fob that stopped working.
Can you reprogram a used key from another car?
Sometimes. It depends on the make and model; some vehicles accept a used key, others only a new one. Tell us the car and we will tell you before you buy anything.
My key snapped in the ignition. What now?
Do not force it. Call us: we extract the broken piece, check the ignition, and cut a new key on the spot.
